Sula was born in Trinidad in the West Indies of Indian descent and came to England in the 1960s to nurse. She has had a lifelong interest in painting and having brought up a family and retired from nursing, she is now pursuing new aims in art. Sula’s paintings show the life of the Caribbean, in representations of the colours, rhythms and warmth of the region’s culture and landscape.
